The hare’s ear olive is a time tested pattern that is extremely effective at catching fish. It is versatile in that it imitates a wide variety of underwater bugs. This fly has loose hair around the thorax that simulate the legs of an aquatic insect, and a bead head to help it sink into the zone where the big fish hang out.

Tips: A multipurpose nymph that can be used with confidence on still water or rivers. Even though it is weighted it could still be fished on a sinking line in deep water. It will appeal to trout when fished on a floating line as a single fly.
